There are a lot of benefits of consuming herbs in daily diet but you will find taking herbs and spices solely is not something you are fond of. For a start you may begin with herbs and spices from your kitchen that have nice smell such as cinnamon, orange peel, and ginger. Those herbs and spices are beneficial to your health.
Let us start with cinnamon. Cinnamon contains eugenol that is known to have antiviral properties. You can sprinkle cinnamon powder to your coffee, tea or hot chocolate. You can also make cinnamon tea by adding one stick of cinnamon bark into two cups of boiled water. Add honey to taste. It is good to avoid cold.
Orange peel is another nice and easy thing to add to your beverages. Grate the peel of any organic oranges, leave the white part because it is bitter. You can use it right away but you can dry it for about five to seven days so you can keep it longer in the jar. Besides beverages, you can add orange peel to almost everything from pancake, muffin and ice cream. It contains vitamin C and fiber.
Ginger probably is the most favorite one. You can use it fresh or dry. Ginger is carminative, it is especially good for digesting system. Tea brewed from ginger helps to ease nausea and PMS. If you have time, you can make your own ginger tincture using glycerine. The finished product is tasty sweet liquid that is convenient for you to carry around.
There are more herbs and spices from your kitchen that have tremendous benefits. Sesame seed, coriander, rosella , and cardamom are only few of them. However, some people may develop allergy to certain herbs such as lavender or cinnamon. If you want to consume it, make sure you are not allergic to it. Have fun..
